The two giants mentioned in their statement that they will establish local artificial intelligence infrastructure that is "an order of magnitude more powerful than the fastest supercomputer in India today." NVIDIA will provide Reliance with the most advanced GH200 super chip, and will also open access to DGX AI computing power cloud services to partners.

Reliance Industries sent the telecom group Jio to connect. The announcement revealed that the AI data center capacity of the two parties will eventually be expanded to 2000MW, and Jio will be mainly responsible for execution and operation.

With top-level computing power, Jio will also cooperate with NVIDIA to develop a large language model suitable for India's national conditions. India has a very complex language system. According to statistics, there are 1,652 languages and dialects in the country, 33 of which are spoken by more than one million people. The Indian Constitution stipulates 18 languages as federal official languages, and English is also used as the administrative and judicial language.

The statement pointed out that the global artificial intelligence revolution is changing industries and daily life. To serve India's huge potential in AI, Reliance will create AI applications and services for its 450 million Jio customers and provide energy-efficient AI infrastructure to scientists, developers and startups across India.

The statement also noted that artificial intelligence can help farmers interact with their mobile phones in local languages to obtain information on weather and crop prices. At the same time, in areas where doctors are in short supply, expert diagnosis of medical symptoms and effects on scans can also be provided. At the same time, artificial intelligence can also better predict disastrous weather and enable people in danger to evacuate in time.

According to the Securities Times, in a statement on Friday, Nvidia President and CEO Jensen Huang said he was pleased to cooperate with Reliance to build the most advanced artificial intelligence supercomputer in India. India has talent, data and scale. With the most advanced computing facilities, Reliance can build its own large language model to support local AIGC applications in India.

Mukesh Ambani also expressed that he is happy to cooperate with Nvidia and looks forward to a meaningful journey together.

Neil Shah, a partner at Counterpoint Research, a well-known market research firm, said that the blessing of artificial intelligence is crucial for Jio to "understand" the data of millions of users and enable Jio to become a company that can provide services other than telecommunications. technology company.

"The AI infrastructure will enable it to provide accurate recommendations and cross-sell products and services across its vast network of customers in the retail, telecom and financial sectors," Shah said.

Nvidia started operations in India in 2004 and currently has 3,800 employees across four engineering development centers.

As a background to the cooperation between NVIDIA and Reliance, NVIDIA President and CEO Huang Jensen just visited India this week and was personally received by Indian Prime Minister Modi. After the meeting, Modi also said on social media that the two discussed in detail the rich potential India offers in the field of artificial intelligence.
