Transistor switch saturation calculator
Enter the value:
Rc (Collector resistor)
KΩ
VP (Positive Voltage)
V
Beta(min) (Current gain)
VBE (Base to emitter drop)
V
recovery
calculateRx
result:
Rb (Base resistor)
KΩ
The transistor enters a saturated state, or drives an electronic switch. Therefore, the calculation parameters are important.
After the load current is saturated, the base current must be Ib=Ic/Beta. Transistors have different gains, so we want to use the lowest value of the test version to ensure saturation.
Rb= (VP-VBE)/Ib= (VP-VBE)* amplification factor /Ic= (VP-VBE)* amplification factor *Rc/VP
