Intel FPGAs/Altera

Acerca de Intel FPGAs/Altera

Intel is a global leader in the semiconductor industry and computing innovation, founded in 1968.

In June 2015, Intel acquired Altera for $16.7 billion. At the time of the acquisition, Altera was the world's second-largest FPGA manufacturer.

Altera FPGA, As an outstanding representative in the field of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), we have been committed to researching high-performance, flexible, and programmable solutions since our establishment. Altera has now been acquired by Intel and become part of its Programmable Solutions Group (PSG), but Altera FPGAs still have a significant impact in the technology field.

The Altera FPGA product line is very extensive, mainly including Cyclone, Arria, Stratix, and Agilex series launched after Intel's acquisition. Each series has its unique positioning and characteristics, and its high cost-effectiveness meets the needs of different customers.

Cyclone series: This FPGA series is mainly designed with low cost and low power consumption, suitable for low-end market demand. For example, the Cyclone V FPGA has low power consumption characteristics and integrates a hard core processor, improving the system's integration and performance.

Arria series: Arria series FPGAs are mainly targeted at the mid-range market and are known for their high cost-effectiveness. The main product types of this FPGA series include memory, logic, and digital signal processing (DSP) module resources, as well as high-speed transceivers, which can support various complex applications such as wireless communication, data centers, etc.

Stratix series: The Stratix series FPGA is designed specifically for the high-end market, with extremely high performance and feature set. This type of FPGA is suitable for high bandwidth, high system integration, and low latency application scenarios, such as high-performance computing, data center acceleration, network equipment, etc.

● Agilex series: As a new series launched by Intel after acquiring Altera, Agilex FPGA integrates Intel's latest process technology and innovative architecture, providing customized connectivity and acceleration functions for various applications. This series of FPGAs support high bandwidth transceivers, enhanced DSP functions and ARM based hard core processor systems, which can meet the stringent requirements of data center, network, edge computing and other fields.

In addition to its diverse product line, Altera FPGA also combines programmable logic technology with software tools, intellectual property (IP), and technical services to provide high-quality programmable solutions to customers worldwide. These solutions not only shorten development time, but also reduce power consumption and costs, making Altera FPGAs widely used in multiple industries.
